Our Little Explorers room is designed to meet the needs of children from 18 months to 3 years.
Children are supported by staff who are carefully selected for their knowledge and experience of working with this age group.
The curriculum supports the Early Years Foundation Stage and has a strong focus on exploration and discovery with the focus on communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development.
We aim to develop children’s self-confidence, independence, and interest in the world around them, based on their stage of development and current interests.
There are various dedicated areas offering age appropriate learning activities including home corner, mark making, messy play, construction, and a cosy corner to share stories and songs.
Little Explorers have daily access to our fully enclosed outdoor play area where they have supervised access to a range of resources to explore the natural environment and develop a healthy and active lifestyle.
Daily routines include meal and snack times where children sit together to share social experiences. Children are encouraged to self -serve and feed themselves, thereby promoting independence.
A cosy quiet area is dedicated for sleep and is supervised by experienced staff. Those who do not need a sleep, have time to relax and play quietly so they have time to rest.
Weekly music sessions are offered which are led by a specialist music teacher to encourage children to explore and develop a love of music and movement.
Spending time in our Little Explorers room give children an excellent start to Kindergarten life that will be built on as they move to our Little Learners Room.
